DawnWord is built around a simple promise: the app collects nothing about you.

This document explains what that means in detail.

What we collect

Nothing.

DawnWord does not collect, store, transmit, or receive any personal data from you. We have no servers. We have no analytics. We do not use any third-party SDKs that report on your usage.

There are no accounts to create. There is no login. We do not know how many people use the app, what verses you save, what time you wake up, or whether you opened the app today.

What stays on your device

The following information is stored locally on your iPhone (in the standard iOS UserDefaults), and never leaves it without your permission:

• Alarm times and settings (which days, which sounds, snooze duration)
• Your verse-shuffle seed (a random UUID generated at first launch)
• Saved verse IDs and your written reflections
• The first date you used DawnWord

This is the data the app needs to do its job. None of it ever travels over the internet to us, because we have no servers.

What syncs through your iCloud account (optional)

If you are signed in to iCloud on your iPhone, iOS may automatically replicate the following items between your devices via Apple's iCloud Key-Value Storage:

• Your verse-shuffle seed
• Your install date
• Your saved verses and reflections

This sync is handled entirely by Apple. The data passes through Apple's servers in encrypted form, is associated only with your Apple ID, and is not visible to us. You can disable this at any time in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → DawnWord.

We never receive any of this data, even in aggregate.

Notifications

DawnWord uses the iOS notification system to deliver alarms at the times you set. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device — we do not send push notifications, because we have no server to send them from.

Third parties

We do not use:

• Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or any other analytics SDK
• Crash reporters that send data to a third party (no Crashlytics, no Sentry, no Bugsnag)
• Advertising SDKs
• Social network SDKs
• Attribution SDKs (no AppsFlyer, no Adjust, no Branch)

The only Apple framework we use that touches a network at all is iCloud Key-Value Storage, described above, which is entirely under your control.

Children

DawnWord is rated 4+ and is appropriate for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children, because we do not collect data at all.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of DawnWord ever needs to collect anything, we will:

• Update this policy with a clear changelog entry
• Show an in-app explanation before any new data collection begins
• Make any data collection optional
